Merit update
Jul. 27th, 2006 12:05 pmSo, on Monday, SE introduced the new merits for 75 jobs. Thieves made out like bandits from the update (higher damage daggers, good Group II merits). Drks also have nothing to go emo over now - with Absorb-TP there are many gleeful drks about.
Rdm finally got some new enfeebles - Paralyze II, Slow II, Blind II, Bio III, Dia III, and Phalanx II. What to do, what to do...
Firstly, Phalanx II seems broken. It can be cast on fellow party members, but even with 3 merits (fully upgraded atm) it is weak - absorbs less than phalanx I. Meh, let the smn use Noctoshield, I'll save my mp.
Paralyze II I am drooling over. This seems really good. I love Paralyze, so this is the logical step. Taking this to max.
Slow II - most of my big fights we have a bard using Carnage Elegy. True, Elegy and Slow II would make the mob so slow it wouldn't react at all, but I think my fellow rdm in the ls is doing Slow II, so I will leave this alone.
Blind II - meh. Good if soloing, but really, what I solo I don't need much blind. Doesn't enthuse me - leave alone.
Bio III - attack down. Someone pointed out that it would be really good against monk mobs during 100 fists, which got me thinking. 100 fists only lasts 30 seconds, so it might be worth putting 1 merit into Bio III - imagine against Seiryu during that time!
Dia III - who doesn't love def down? Mobs die quicker. Probably doing 2 merits into this.
So there we go - 3 para, 2 Dia, 1 bio, and that is how I will eventually spend my merits!
