For those somewhat bemused by my latest obsession - Life on Mars, here is possibly one of the best moments ever seen on TV - the moment where Sam Tyler finds himself in 1973.

In modern day, his girlfriend and fellow police officer, Maya has been kidnapped by a serial killer they are both chasing. The sequence starts just after they find her shirt.

John Simm puts sooooooo much emotion into what he does - it is just amazing. Add to that possibly David Bowie's best moment musically, and you have compulsive viewing.
