Wizard's Roll

After being rather impressed with the introduction of Wizard's Roll in
amadeo_ffxi repertoire in our static yesterday I decided to do a bit of digging around, mainly to put my own mind at ease. I wondered if I had imagined the sudden spike in damage, and that perhaps I was getting badly resisted before.
Anyway, digging around lead me to this thread on Alla. I don't normally pay too much attention to there, but it intrigued me. A 75 blm had done testing on the effectiveness of Wizard's Roll, using Thunder IV as the testing spell. Started with baseline, added a Moldavite into the mix (MAB +5) and then tested the rolls. And oooooo boy...
01 = +5 Magic ATT
02 = +5 Magic ATT
03 = +6 Magic ATT
04 = +6 Magic ATT
05 = +11 Magic ATT - Lucky #
06 = +7 Magic ATT
07 = +7 Magic ATT
08 = +7 Magic ATT
09 = +4 Magic ATT - Unlucky #
10 = +8 Magic ATT
11 = +13 Magic ATT - Best Possible
Look at what happens if the corsair rolls an 11 - the perfect roll - a mighty +13 MAB. When you consider, at 58 I only currently have access to a Moldavite Earring, Deo's first roll of 11 (perfect) pushed me to +18 MAB. No wonder I was seeing a massive increase in damage. I can't wait to see what happens on our next Kirin, when you put Deo in the same party as our blm powerhouse Kyatasutorofii...
