kirsteenaThe Mithran Trackers BC and the Tenzen path are now finished with CoP, so we are down to Lourverance's path, with only the BC left to go then Snoll Czar and onto chapter 6. However, due to Christmas, this will be put on hold until the beginning on January. The Mithran Trackers is an annoying BC, mainly because they really don't like being slept. For a level 50 cap BC, to have your nin tank go down to Spiral Hell is annoying to say the least! However, we had read one tactic which we followed and won the BC with no issues - summoner Astral Flows. Aldric got off 2 (or 3 I wasn't watching closely, I was watching health bars!) Tidal Waves which basically destroyed them. After seeing how hard they are to sleep we decided to wait for Ald's 2 hour to reset for the other 3, and went to do the 60 cap bit in Pso'xja to finish that off. All this involves is running through Pso'jxa (the tower closest to Battalia Downs), getting to the avatar gate at the bottom, then watching a CS there. We even had a map to follow from Koolaid's website http://www.koolaid-ffxi.org/linkshell/space/And+the+Compass+Guides
Easy, no? Well no.
Everything went fine getting to the gate, however surrounding the gate are a few millstones (magic aggro) and one goblin vetinarian... One of the group got sight aggro, I automatically hit my sleep macro, then think - ah crap - magic aggro as a pot comes straight for me. Nearly everyone is in a CS, except me and Pat. Pat throws cures at me, which get aggro for him. He dies first, and delevels ; ; I then die. The person who got the aggro initially came out of cs and was being hit, so Ehran voked the gob and ran, picking up adds on the way. He Mijin Gakure'd to save xp. But still more people were getting aggro. In the meantime, everyone has seen the CS except myself and Pat. He had reraise on, and got himself up - Cy shadowbound the goblin while Pat was in the CS and ran, but died. As soon as Pat was out, he raised me, and was telling me when it was safe to come out of the cs so I could get out quickly... When you do this - KILL THE GOBLIN FIRST! On the other hand, we got to see the anti MPK strat in action, when the gob literally just popped straight back after people died.
After this debacle, it was back to Boneyard Gully and the second destruction of the Mithran Trackers by Aldric. Progress at last.
In other news, I have turned in 1991 moat carp now, so I am saying I am 1/5th the way there! I also have a shiny new torque, courtesy of going to refresh a smn party against Fenrir... Now to work on Pat's Christmas present...

I've chaperoned a customed wedding in the Hall of the Gods and the WM and me were both stressed out, so give your chap a hug, its a stressful ordeal but worth it for the friendships. And CoP can kiss the darkside of my tail, its nothing but pain for me trying to get people with time and/or willingness to help.

I got lucky with CoP - we have a set of seven (plus a few others) who just want to get missions done, be they rank, finishing off the last Zilart Missions, or CoP.
